HOW TO OPEN OBIEE RPD IN ONLINE MODE

1.     To open RPD in Online Mode, configure ODBC connection in client/Server(where obiee is installed) machine.

2.       Go to start menu, search for Data Sources(ODBC), click to open ODBC data source Administrator.

3.       In the User DSN tab, Click on Add button and select the data source (Oracle BI Server1). If multiple data sources are available select appropriate source and click on Finish.

4.       Enter the name of the data source and the server name and click next.

                        
Note: if it is server machine then configure datasource as shown in below screenshot.

5.    We can get the server name and port for OBIEE from EM as shown in below screenshot.

6.       Enter the Login ID and password used to login to OBIEE EM and the server port as shown in above screenshot.

                    Note: check the connect box to test the connection and also check save login Id check box.

7.    Click on Next, if the connection is successful then click on finish.ODBC connection is created, use this to Open RPD in online mode. 

 8.     Open Administration tool and go to File -> Open ->Online

9.       Enter the RPD  username and password and click on Open.

10.    The RPD will be opened  in Online Mode.

  

Note: If EBS security is implemented then Required for Authentication should be  unchecked for EBS Security Context Inititlization Block for Opening RPD in Online Mode.
